How Do You?

How do you pick yourself up when you have taken a little trip to the land of despair?  I've hit a few bumps in the road the last couple of weeks, and have been trying to find a way to "reset" my brain.  Do you have a favorite saying or scripture?  Prayer or song?  For example, I'm trying to use "Love is patient, love is kind" to reset myself when I'm losing my patience with the girls over something.  It's just a little trigger to remind me to step back and take a deep breath.  But I haven't been able to find the same kind of thing to pull me up when I get a little down.  I'd love to hear what works for you.

Blessing for a wonderful Monday!

  1. The Psalms. And I'm sorry, and will say a prayer for you, Stina. Hugs.

  2. It's that gray Virginia Winter! You need some good old fashioned Colorado sunshine... but Spring will be upon you before you know it there!

However, when I cannot change the weather, I put my ipod on and rock out to the hits I love best in that moment! I sing along and it lifts me up. I love my Amy Grant and my Lady Gaga both! Additionally, I reset with Prayer of St Francis (this was a revalation this morning in Bible study, actually). Finally, I get out and connect with a friend! Sometimes we just need that human connection to rebuild our momselves. Much love!

  3. Also, the other day when I was in the deep dumps, I blogged my way into feeling a little better!

  5. Like you using the love passage, I've been trying to use "A gentle answer turns anger away" Prov 15:1... for despair? Chocolate, popcorn, German pancakes... not the best answer... talk it out with my husband? oh! For me, when I'm done, I've learned what I MUST do is a craft. Somehow, taking that time out to use my skills for something fun, and alone, is just what I need. ((((hugs))) and prayers.
